Talie Tebbi remembers when she was flamed. When Tebbi, a freshman magazine journalism major, was in high school, a middle-school student she didn’t know instant messaged her and used anti-Semitic and homophobic slurs against her. The harsh remark was sparked because Tebbi had asked one of the boy’s friends to remove something inappropriate from a profile.
